The Key to My Heart
Between the snow storms I’ve been running over to my favorite craft store. While there, combing the isles, I rediscovered this air dry Porcelin clay. I had gotten some in white earlier this year while trying to decide how I was going to try to make dolls. Porcelin dolls would be so very cool to make, but after thinking about it, they would just take too long to reproduce, I’m more of an instant gratification girl these days.
So I decided to create this other project idea that I had sketched in my little project journal. I decided to take these very cool vintage keys purchased on the World’s Longest Yard Sale, a little red ribbon, plus the porcelin, and make ornaments. And if I liked the way they came out I had sketched a few more ideas.
They didn’t come out exactly how I had pictured. The clay company says the porcelin is white, but it dries bone colored with some marble effect. This looks totally cool, semi rustic, but I might adjust this formula for my next set…maybe.
Now you can purchase these from inspirelements.etsy.com, and I invite you to take a look at what else the cool little network of artists has to offer over there.
